The European Cetacean Society (ECS) was established in January 1987 and aims to promote and advance the scientific studies and conservation efforts of marine mammals and to gather and disseminate information about them to members of the Society and the public at large. The ECS is coordinated by a Council of 11 members and each year organizes an Annual Conferences in a European country.

4th International Conference on Marine Mammal Protected Areas ICMMPA 4

The 4th International Conference on Marine Mammal Protected Areas will be held November 13 – 17, 2016 at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort Resort and Convention Center in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, MÉXICO. The conference will focus on the role of effective partnerships and planning strategies for managing and monitoring protected areas with marine mammals.

EU Research and Innovation in Support to the Earth Observation Market

DG RTD is organising this workshop in collaboration with DG CONNECT, DG GROW, the JRC, EARSC, ESA (ESRIN), Geospatial Media and Communications BV, and HCP international.

The overall objective of this workshop will be to explore Research and Innovation (R&I) actions needed for the development of a dynamic Earth observation (EO) market in Europe in relation to the Copernicus and GEO initiatives (Group on Earth Observations). European commercial entities involved or interested in Earth observation are particularly welcome and encouraged to participate.
